Good friends, good times, good food and not so good golf (well everything can’t be perfect) was the way our first week at the beach went. The highlight of the week for Millie and I was our grandson Lincoln’s first beach trip. Being there for his first steps in the Atlantic Ocean was a thrill for us. Of course this is just one of the joys that the little man brought us while he was visiting. Just having him around for six days was a real pleasure. We kept him two nights for his parents to go out and enjoy dinner, a movie and a little R and R of their own. They thought we were doing them a favor when in essence they were doing us one.

Would you believe the little man actually let his parents and us help build a sand castle. The construction equipment (plastic buckets, shovels etc.) wasn’t very expensive but was well worth it. OK enough reporting from the beach, it’s vacation time 2008 and I need more sun.

Even though the official day is February 19th, family and friends helped "Linc" celebrate his first birthday in grand style over the weekend. Aunts, uncles, cousins, grandparents and even great grandma helped with the festivities. For anyone who knows Lincoln’s parents, it should come as no surprise that the theme of the party had to do with Georgia Football. The invitation even asked everyone to wear red and black. With so many in the family being Bulldog fans the dress code for the party was easily accomplished.

The highlight of the party was Lincoln feeding himself his first birthday cake. It is safe to say that he wore more than he ate. Congratulations Lincoln, You’re Number One!

Talk about Loving Atlanta Living, last night was one of the most rewarding nights any person could hope for. At 9:25 PM EST William Lincoln “Linc” Perry came into this world. He weighed in at 6lbs. 5oz. and was 18 in. tall. While this is not big by some standards, he is huge in our eyes. Mother, father and baby are all doing well. All 4 grandparents on the other hand are way too excited and may require medical attention.
