Charles Bannister Gwinnett County
Well it’s election season in Gwinnett County as well as the rest of the nation. I don’t know about you but I am already tired of all the TV ads. Well advertising in Gwinnett County went to another level for me today. Someone stuck a flier for Charles Bannister on my front door. I don’t mean they put a flier on my front door, I mean they STUCK the damn thing on my front door. I took 3 pictures for every one to see. One picture is of the front of the flier, one is of the back of the flier (with a nice chunk of it missing) and the third is of the mess they made of my front door.
On the front of the flier it states “It’s been an honor to serve you, my neighbors. I promise to continue focusing on reducing traffic, enhancing our police force, combating illegal immigration and bringing new businesses and jobs to Gwinnett County”. I wonder if they will be coming out to clean and possibly repaint my door?

Got something to say?

They left one of those on my door as well but it didn’t stick to my door. It wasn’t sticky! What was on your door that did that?
Maybe it rained on it and stuck. Hardly think it was worth whining about though. Jeesh!
David
You are not the only one to suffer an indignation at the hands of Charles Bannister. Apparently, there are a lot of people mad at him!

@David, When I discovered the flier on my door I proceeded to call Mr. Bannister’s office number that was on the flier. I left a message on the voice mail. After 2 hours I decided to take pictures of the mess and then write the blog post. If telling the truth is whining in your eyes then so be it. BTW there was nothing on the door.
To make matters worse a representative at Mr. Bannister’s office called and said he was going to come by this afternoon and take a look at it. It is now after six o’clock and no one yet.
@Another Mad Gwinnett Voter, I am not mad at Mr. Bannister. It bothers me that someone would just walk up and stick something on my door. Why not mail it to me. I can then put it in the trash with the other junk mail. Why don’t they email it. Oh I forgot that would be spam. At least I could just hit the delete key. I wouldn’t have to clean up computer.
I am upset that during the political season we as citizens have to put up with numerous abuses of laws that we must obey while the politicians don’t. Take for instance the sign ordinance in Gwinnett County. As a REALTOR I am restricted from placing directional signs at intersections etc. Politicians put them up and leave them up forever. I am on the do not call list. It applies to everyone except politicians. We know who makes the laws and that they are going to protect themselves.
David Smith, I am with Mack on this. It is his front door and no one, even Charles Bannister has a right to use it as a bulletin board. Even if Mack wanted to coat his door with sticky tree sap, that is his right and he would be justified to complain about a mess left on the door.
Thanks for the support FinanceBuzz. FYI, I got an email from Lorraine Green (Mr. Bannister’s Competition) stating that she was sorry that I was being subjected to this silliness. I also received her flier in the mail yesterday. What do you know it wasn’t stuck to the mail box or my front door. None of my property was damaged by it. I wonder if there may be a lesson to be learned here? BTW, I never heard anything from Mr. Bannister’s representative, I guess they figured they lost my vote already, so why do the right thing!
David: +1 FAIL
Most neighborhoods in the area have put up no soliciting signs now. If some arrogant p*&$k chooses to ignore them and in the decision damages personal or real property, said idiot should pay for it.
Also injecting a touch of logic: Many items, when moistened, have a good chance of sticking to a surface. This is especially true when the item is paper based, and even more so when there is a coating of some sort on the paper. What kind of fool put these on doors when it rains EVERY afternoon lately? Good job Chuck. Winning voters over one facepalm at a time.
I received this email Saturday evening from Jeremy Brand with the Charles Bannister campaign:
Mr. Perry,
I am coming to look at your door. I was unable to do so yesterday afternoon, but I will come by in the morning and find out what it going on. I can think of no reason why one would stick to your door.
Guess who did not show up? Mr. Bannister, it is not a good reflection on you when your people make promises both verbally and written and then break them. It this the type of image that you want to portray? Just more broken promises from politicians, I should be used to it by now!
