Why do I get the feeling that the funds from recycling go to the county. Is it just me?

An update on Allied pick up date. They did not pick up on Friday instead it was in Saturday again. Spoke to them and it seems that they may have spread themselves to thin. Not enough trucks to handle the load or something like that. Will wait until Friday to see what happens. Neighbor had his container to far away for the driver to reach it with the arm that dumps it and by passed his container. Called on Monday and was picked up late that afternoon.

Ron, like you not many recycle in our area as well. Many question what happens to the funds from selling these items. Can they use these funds to offset the cost of picking up the garbage? Probably not.

Last Monday they picked up trash (Ahead of Recycle,) and they [WASTE PRO] have not taught the Crew not to place the Trash container in FRONT of the Recycle. So guess what:, the recycle Truck cruises right on by.

I called the county Tuesday ;and WASTE PRO did come back.(I also said if they would not I was NOT going to haul it back....)

In the process of reporting the incident, I asked the phone agent to give me an update on:
1. County recycling in ALL county occupied buildings
2. Status of Fine paper and can/glass recycling in the School District..

I told him: "I gave you my information so it should not be hard for to get a report (reply) on
that issue".
He said he would pass it on...

I really didn't expect a reply from any of the politicians or county staff that have better things to do with our taxes and prepaid fees. per usual county business; and my expectations were confirmed,100%, SADLY!

I was told recycling has increased since the new plan?..., As I said n a earlier post I see little if any new participation where I live.

In all fairness to Allied waste they just came by at 2:30 on Saturday to pick up the trash. The driver and crew apoligized to each of us on our street. The driver had become ill at work on Friday and they were on Overtime in which they said was a good thing for them. We all said that we wish the best for the driver.

My pick up day is Friday and the can is still sitting there on Saturday. Allied, who we fired 4 years ago is our appointed hauler. Try getting them on Saturday,HA HA. Last time this happened we called the county on Monday only to be told that they would be by on Friday. 'The can is full now what and will not have room for any more. How about an adjustment in the rate?' The reply was they can not adjust the rate. What next? Oh did we say they missed the whole subdivision? Yes they did.

Saw the recent article in the BOC newspaper, Daily Post, bragging about working out the kinks. Well guess what, come to my neighbor hood and talk to us we will show you the kinks that have not been worked out. Jamie Ward where are you at least you reported the facts and did not cover them up.

While no one in the county may admit to following this blog....
a good Samaritan must picked up those trash bags....

Now BOC and School district; lets get behind the recycling RIGHT now...
or all of you get just the hey out of town,!. and we'll replace you with someone who
who doesn't think all all this applies to everyone except them.

And why do we hear only silence from the county on the progress of their "inside" recycling???? Seems like that would have been one of the first things to brag about!

Absolutly correct Ron.

Recycling will pick up whenever the education program gets started. That's one key thing that GC&B was providing that is now lost. The commissioners should be looking into the Recycling Bank program that some of the Beaudreau trash panel members did for extra incentives to increase recycling.
